The Wilderness Adventure Club, or WAC for short, is a club at Bolsa Grande High School. We are the environmental friendly club of the school, hosting events such as recycling days, collecting plastic bottles, hikes, and beach cleanups year-round. The members participate in these events for the good of our campus and to gain hours that are needed to go on the camping trips.
We have three trips throughout the year, each varying in length. One is 3 days, another is 5, and the last one is 7. Along with getting hours, the members also have a daily after school event called Crush and Stomp, where they take the recycled plastic bottles and crush them by stomping on them. The weight of what is crushed and stomped is then converted into money. That money goes into the club fund for trips, by paying for the ride, and the necessities. Camping trips happen during the end of the first semester, and in the second, giving each member enough time to plan, earn hours, and raise money for the trip.

We partner with Sierra Club to go on these awesome trips. Here is a quote that they use quite often to describe the message they want to send to the world. "We're standing up and fighting back against injustice to demand a better world: one run on clean energy, with good jobs, fair access to housing and clean water, and free of racial injustice."
